The Happenings:

September 13th (Saturday, 11-4 pm): Opening day at the Tengo La Voz Project Space (7th and Mendocino Ave) KRCBs Voice of Youth video project invites you to tell your own story at the Community Media Center mobile van. 12-3 pm

Family day fiesta at the Sonoma County museum with the La Frontera del Norte exhibit
Stenciling workshop with Julio Morales 1-4 pm

September 20th (Saturday, 1-3 pm): HBO: Def Poet Paul Flores hosts a teen writing workshop (At the Tengo La Voz Project Space - 7th Street at Mendocino) A workshop of the Sonoma County Book Festival.

September 20th (Saturday, 3-4 pm): Teen Poetry Slam at the Sonoma County Book Festival. Cash Prizes for the best poems! (At Santa Rosa Courthouse Square)

September 27th (Saturday, 1-4 pm): Photography and Portraiture with Artist Julio Morales. Make your own portraits to take home with you. All materials included. (At the Sonoma County Museum)

October 11th (Saturday, 11-1pm and 2-4 pm): Family Day at the Sonoma County Museum. Tin Art workshop with The Imagine Bus Project. Ages 5+ are welcome to learn this traditional Mexican art form. (At the Sonoma County Museum)

October 18th (Saturday, 12-4 pm): KRCB’s Voice of Youth presents the art of audio performance. Create your own audio performance of poetry, beats, or tell your own story, and receive a free CD to take home. (At the Tengo La Voz Project Space - 7th Street at Mendocino)

October 25th (Saturday, 1-3 pm): Windsor Bloco hosts a drumming workshop for ages 12+. (At the Tengo La Voz Project Space - 7th Street at Mendocino)

October 26th (Sunday, 1-4 pm): BAYER FARM Harvest Celebration. Artist Laura Hoffman leads a free workshop on creating sugar skulls and other traditional Mexican arts and crafts. Also Windsor Bloco hosts drumming class for ages 12+. (Located at Bayer Farm, 1550 West Avenue in Roseland across from Sheppard Elementary School)

November 1st (Saturday, 11 am-1 pm): Artist Mary Vaughn leads a free art workshop for creating clay “Day of the Dead Heads”. HBO: Def Poet and Hip-Hop Artist Paul Flores presents a free writing workshop. (At the Sonoma County Museum)

November 2nd Sunday (12-3 pm): CHDC’s Harvest Celebration - KRCB’s Voice of Youth Video project invites you to tell your story at the Community Media Center’s mobile video van. (At the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts)
